Respond In Kind is a series comprised of artworks focused on reflection, experience, poetry in photography, and in a certain way context. These mixed media installations are made up of digital and film photographs along with excerpts of experiences illustrated in the form of handwritten words in oil pastel. The imagery is subtle though the emotional experience is dense. The hands place you in an experience, relatable though not your own, and the large wall print envelopes the entirety of your visual experience as you float through tiny flashes of memories. These 2 experiences stretched across a long wall face one another, define one another, reverberate off each other. Similarly to how one creates an internal identity comprised of personal narratives and then projects that self into the saturating world to be received and stored in the context of a moment, the strobe of a memory, and then back into the subconscious.
